With over 30 years of experience in education and 25 years as a head wrestling coach, Travis Keal has spent his career empowering student-athletes and leaders to reach their highest potential. Starting his head coaching journey at DeSoto High School Kansas and continuing for 22 years at Mill Valley High School Kansas, Keal established a culture of excellence built on discipline, resilience, and positivity. He holds both a BSE in Education and MSE in Educational Leadership from Pittsburg State University.
Keal’s influence on the wrestling community is extraordinary. Under his guidance, Mill Valley High School earned numerous championships, including the prestigious 6A Kansas State Wrestling Championship, seven Kansas Regional Championships, and a host of individual state titles. His commitment to academic success was equally strong—his 2020 team was crowned Kansas Academic Team State Champions. Across his career, his athletes have achieved All-American honors and academic excellence.

Beyond the mat, Keal continues to shape future leaders through Climb Coaching LLC, where he mentors coaches, educators, and business professionals in building high-performing cultures centered on mindset, teamwork, and resilience. Certified as a coach, speaker, and trainer under renowned leadership expert Jon Gordon, Keal’s message of positivity and growth resonates far beyond athletics.
A member of the Kansas Wrestling Coaches Hall of Fame, Keal has been honored regionally and nationally for his coaching excellence and leadership.
On the personal side, Keal is a devoted husband to Michele for 29 years. Together, they’ve raised three children—Austin, Zach, and Maryn.
